Overview

SunRain developed a manifold to house heat pipes with larger bulbs to increase the rate of heat exchange from the vacuum tube to the heating fluid. The heat pipe which sits inside of the evacuated tube, wrapped with an aluminum heat sink, quickly absorbs all of the heat within the tube and concentrates it at the bulb. The bulb sits inside a port in the manifold where heat transfer fluid flows across on the inside the manifold pulling the heat away where it is transfered to a storage tank. The larger bulb size allows for more surface area contact with the fluids and an incease in the rate of heat transfer, which in turn allows the collector to deliver more heat energy.
